Dallas Fire-Rescue is responsible for providing fire, crash, and emergency medical services at Dallas Love Field and Dallas Executive Airports. Our equipment is unique and the training specialized for this type of firefighting. There are a total of 85 personnel assigned to ARFF. The personnel assigned are trained to meet all Federal, State, and Local requirements concerning Aircraft Rescue Firefighting.

Dallas Love Field

The primary ARFF fire stations for Dallas Love Field are Stations 21 and 42.

Front Line Equipment

Red 01 – 2011 Rosenbauer Panther 6x6: Carries 3,000 gallons of water, 400 gallons of 3% foam, 500 pounds of dry powder. Equipped with a high reach extendable turret and infrared camera. Staffing: Captain, Driver, Fire Rescue Officer.

Red 02 – 1999/Oshkosh TI-3000: Carries 3,000 gallons of water, 420 gallons of 3% foam, 500 pounds of Halotron Argon propellant. Equipped with a snozzle and infrared camera. Staffing: Lieutenant, Driver.

Red 03 – 2000/Oshkosh TI-3000: Carries 3,000 gallons of water, 420 gallons of 3% foam, 500 pounds of dry powder. Equipped with a snozzle and infrared camera. Staffing: Driver, Fire Rescue Officer.

Reserve Apparatus:

Red 42 – 1999/Oshkosh TI-3000: Carries 3,000 gallons of water, 420 gallons of 3% foam, 500 pounds of dry powder. First up reserve apparatus

Love Field is an Index "B" airport.

Dallas Executive Airport

The primary ARFF fire station for Dallas Executive Airport is Station 49.

Front Line Equipment

Red 49 – 1998/Oshkosh TI-3000: Carries 3,000 gallons of water, 420 gallons of 3% foam, 500 pounds of dry chemical (Purple K). Equipped with 600-1200 GPM roof turret, 300 GPM bumper turret, 200 feet of 1 3/4 "attack line and 100 feet of 1" red line. Staffing: Driver Engineer and a Fire & Rescue Officer

Dallas Executive Airport is a non-index FAA airport.

Emergency Response Definitions

Alert II – Major aircraft emergency (e.g., faulty landing gear, engine fire, airborne bomb threat, etc.) that could affect a safe landing.

Alert III – Aircraft crash or fire involving aircraft not in flight.
