| Fire Station #22 opened August 1, 1963, as a single company station. When
the station moved from its first location at Central Expressway and Armstrong,
they temporarily made headquarters at Station #37, while awaiting the completion
of their new station. (Engine 22 moved "early" so box cards for both station
#22 and station #3 could be placed in service at the same time.) In 1963, Station #22's first alarm district was mainly residential and extended from Walnut Hill Lane to the north city limits and from Inwood Road to the east city limits located at Forest Lane and Plano Road. The current district surrounding Station #22 is unique in that it contains all types of occupancies, ranging from small frame houses to extremely large residential, million-dollar properties. Also included are high-rise buildings, small businesses and one of the largest industrial complexes in the City, Texas Instruments. Building Needs Red: Indicated High
